The Need

Each year, young adults age out of foster care without family support, stable housing, or adequate life skills. In Louisiana. Many youths become homeless within 18 months of aging out.

Employment and education rates are significantly lower than those of the general population. Behavioral health challenges and trauma often go untreated. Without intervention, these young adults face a cycle of instability that affects generations. Connecting Bridges aims to break that cycle through comprehensive, long-term support.

Our Solution

Connecting Bridges supports youth aging out of foster care by providing the structure, skills, and support they need to transition successfully into independent adulthood.

We equip young adults with financial literacy education, life skills training, workforce readiness preparation, and access to mentorship and critical community resources. Our focus is on building confidence, economic stability, and long-term self-sufficiency.

Through intentional guidance and practical tools, we bridge the gap between foster care and independence — ensuring no young person has to navigate adulthood alone.
